In continuation with notice dated 27-07-10 the date, time and venue of Walk-in- Interview / Counseling for filling Vacant Seat in NRI Category is revised as follows:

One candidate selected in NRI Counseling held on 24th July, 2010  has withdrawn and the seat is declared vacant.  All interested NRI candidates who have earlier applied for admission under this category are invited to participate in a Walk-in- Interview/counseling on Friday, the 30th July, 2010 at 11 am in the office of the Principal for filling the seat.   The candidate will be selected as per merit list already certified by the BFUHS and displayed on the website.  The candidate must be physically present. The requisite fee is to be deposited on the spot.  No claim will be entertained later in case a candidate is absent or is unable to deposit the fee

Selected candidates can pay the entire tuition fee of $ US 1,00,000 for MBBS course Admission Batch 2010 at the time of admission on Saturday, 24th July 2010.

Those candidates who opt to pay the fee in the following installments, are required to submit a bank guarantee for the balance amount of the fee :

 All fee and other charges are required to be paid in foreign currency or out of the NRE account of the Candidate/Parent/Guardian.

As notified by Punjab Government, the NRI tuition fees has been fixed at US $ 1,00,000 for MBBS Course, Admission batch-2010.
Further details and date of counseling will be informed in due course.

The Counseling  for NRI category under management quota, MBBS Admission 2010 which was scheduled on 20th July 2010 at DMCH, Ludhiana is hereby postponed. The new date will be informed on the institutional website, as and when declared.

NRI Seats under Management Quota

The last date for applying for NRI Seats under Management Quota at DMC&H, Ludhiana is hereby extended upto 15 July 2010.

Counselling for NRI category under Management Quota, MBBS Course session 2010 is scheduled to be held at DMC & Hospital, Ludhiana in the Principal Office on Tuesday, 20 July 2010 at 10.00 am. It is mandatory for the candidates to be physically present and reach the venue at 9.30 am with all their original certificates, relevant documents and required fees.

1. There are annually 70 seats in the MBBS course at Dayanand Medical College, Ludhiana .
   
   
2. The distribution of the seats are as follows :

                           Government Quota   : 35 
                           Management Quota : 35 (Including 10 NRI category seats)

3. Admission to all seats (excluding NRI category) is through the  Punjab Medical Entrance Test (PMET)-2010 conducted by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. The Merit of  PMET-2010 is the sole criteria for selection to both Government and Management seats           (excluding NRI category) as mentioned in Government Notification No. 5/3/08-3HBIII/1934 dated 31.3.2008.
   
   
4. Punjab Medical Entrance Test-2010 for admission to the seats (excluding 10 NRI category seats under Management Quota) will be  held on 06 June 2010. The counseling for these Government  and Management seats will be conducted by BFUHS, Faridkot.

           The prospectus (to be downloaded from the institutional website www.dmch.edu  and submitted along with cost of prospectus). The application form is to be filled online and is required for only those candidates who are selected for admission  to the institution.

5. Admission to 10 NRI seats is exclusively for Non Resident Indians who  must submit proof of NRI  status of the candidate /parents . These candidates are not required to appear in the PMET-2010. However they are required to submit an eligibility certificate issued by BFUHS, Faridkot before the  counseling to be held by DMCH, Ludhiana. The admission form for online registration and MBBS Admission-2010 prospectus are available on the institutional website www.dmch.edu. The last date for submission of application form under NRI category is10 July 2010.
   
   All candidates are required to also submit a hardcopy and all relevant documents along with required prospectus-cum-application fee & Registration fee to the office of the Dean Academics, DMCH, Ludhiana immediately after the online registration. They are advised to send scanned copies of the application form, relevant certificates, provisional student visa and Bank Draft(s) at info@dmch.edu. NRI seats which remain vacant, if any, after counseling/selection at DMCH, Ludhiana  will be converted to Special Management  Quota seats and filled as per the directives of  the above mentioned Government notification.
   
   
   Urgent Note:
   Candidates applying for NRI Category should note following points:
   
     a) Before registering online:
   
    i) Applicants are required to have a scanned a passport size photographs (size of 200KB ).
    ii) Prepare seperate drafts for Application Fee of US$ 50 and Registration Fee of US$ 500.
   
      b)After registering online:
   
      i) Get a copy of the data as printout.
      ii) Email the scanned copies of the Printout of the Application Form, relevant documents, visa       and Bank Draft(s) at info@dmch.edu.
      iii) Hard Copy of the signed Application Form along with attested photocopies of the                     required documents and relevant drafts are to be submitted by, by post / in person in the       office of Dean Academics

Que  Can foreign students come on Tourist Visa to explore admission in some courses/ institutes and get
          Student Visa while in India?

 No. In order to enable the foreign students to explore various options to study in India, he/she can apply for provisional Student Visa of 6 months duration from Indian Mission abroad and once he/she gets the confirmed admission while in India, he/she can apply for a Student Visa to the local FRRO/FRO along with necessary documentary evidences of confirmed admission, financial standing etc. In order to persue the course in India you are required to convert your Tourist Visa to Student Visa .
