DMCH, College of Nursing is one of the most modern equipped nursing colleges of Punjab. It is widely recognised as center of excellence in the field of Nursing Education with excellent job training facilities in North Zone. The College is affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, It is recognised by Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and is approved by Punjab Govt. College of Nursing occupies 5 acres of prime land with
creamy white building on The institute has highly qualified and experienced faculty, many of whom have received national and international recognition for their research and publications. There are frequent visits of guest lecturers from national and international universities, which bring their research and development into classrooms. The College has well-equipped laboratories of Fundamentals of Nursing, Nutrition, Maternal and Child Health with latest equipment i.e. bandaging simulators, injectable simulator, I/V arms, Baby Manikin and instruments. Laboratories of Anatomy, Physiology and Microbiology of Medical College are also used for B.Sc. Nursing Students. There is a well-equipped separate library for nursing
students with all the modern The College has well ventilated four classrooms with modern facilities. To enhance the presentation of academic exercises like lectures, seminars etc., the institute has a good Audio-visual setup with TV, D.V.D. player, Overhead projectors with white screens, Slide projector, sound system, models and charts for the use of the faculty and students. The college possesses good and comfortable accommodation for girls with all the facilities including 24-hour security, entertainment, boarding and mess. Hostel rooms have attached bathrooms and geysers. Safe drinking water is available for students. The School of Nursing was started in 1954 with an idea to train Auxiliary Nurse Midwifes in 1969, the school was upgraded to 3 years General Nursing Courses. School of Nursing is affiliated to the Punjab Nurses Registration Council, Mohali and is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi. It admits 50 students to the GNM course every year. The College of Nursing came into existence in Oct, 2002.
