Introduction

PRINCIPAL & PROFESSOR

Dr. Daljit Singh is presently Professor of Department of Pediatrics, Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana. Earlier, he was Dean Academics and Head of the Department of Pediatrics since 1998 and 1995 respectively. He has handled various administrative responsibilities at CMC and DMC, Ludhiana in different capacities.

He was awarded FAIMER Fellowship of Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education & Research Institute, Philadelphia, USA, in 2004-2005.

Specially trained in Management and in Educational Technology, he has conducted workshops on Medical Education for about 150 senior teachers. Having delivered more than 150 talks and presentations, he has actively participated in and organized Continuing Medical Education programmes for doctors as well as general practitioners and paramedical personnel. He has authored 5 books in the area of pediatric practice and education and over 100 other national and international publications.

Fellowships have been awarded to him by the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (FIAP) and the International Medical Sciences Academy (FIMSA). The prestigious National Academy of Medical Sciences (MAMS) has conferred him with membership. He was member of the central Governing body of NNF for 1996-98 and has held several executive posts in academic bodies including Secretary and President of Punjab State Branch of IAP as well as NNF. The Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health, UK selected him as Visiting Fellow in the year 2003.

He is the Member of Senate, Academic Council, Faculty of Medical Sciences as well as Board of Studies of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot.
