Dr. Navjot Kaur Bajwa, Professor of Biochemistry at DMC & Hospital, Ludhiana is a graduate of Lady Hardinge Medical College, Delhi. She did her MD in Biochemistry from GMC, Amritsar in 1993 and later worked there as Demonstrator. She joined DMC&H, Ludhiana as a Lecturer in 1994. Presently she is heading the Biochemistry department in DMC for the past 16 years with teaching experience of more than 30 years. She has been PG thesis guide for over 20 post graduates.
She has presented more than 30 papers in International and National Conferences. She has delivered Guest Lectures and Chaired many Sessions in various National Conferences. She has 9 International and 23 National Publications to her credit.
She has also undergone various trainings in-RIA, Quality Control & Internal Audit by NABL & Molecular Techniques. She is also a GSE fellow of Rotary International – 1996. She is a recipient of prestigious Sita Devi Kowadiwadmath oration award at AMBICON-2014.
She has extensively worked on Coelic disease and diabetic retinopathy for past 15 years. Dr. Navjot has been the representative of Punjab & North Zone in Association of Medical Biochemists of India. She was the Organizing Secretary of AMBICON 2019 and was elected as Vice President of Association of Medical Biochemist of India for the year 2019-2020. Currently she is the President AMBI.
She is also a certified genetic counsellor by BGCI. She is instrumental in starting the Molecular Genetics Laboratory at DMCH with latest techniques in the field such as Cytogenetics (karyotyping and FISH), PCR, Real time PCR and NGS (Next generation sequencing). |
