IHBT (Blood Centre)

Immunohaematology and Blood Transfusion has emerged as a distinct specialty not confined to blood centre but has reached the patient’s bed side. It is a diverse and multifaceted discipline concerned with the proper use of blood and blood components in the treatment of human disease.  

Department support the patients in need by providing leucoreduced blood components, platelet apheresis, therapeutic plasma exchange, peripheral stem cell collection, cryopreservation and type & screen crossmatch. We have specialized laboratory diagnostics such as Nucleic Acid Testing (NAT), and advanced immunohaematology lab and providing MD Programme in Immuno-Hematology and Blood Transfusion.

The aim of the our department is to provide high-quality patient care and hospital services, to pursue research that contributes to our knowledge and practice of transfusion medicine and related technologies, and to provide advanced training in transfusion medicine.
