About Doctor

Prof. Parshotam Lal Gautam has vast experience in Critical Care Medicine and is known for handling complex cases of polytrauma, poisoning, liver failure, infections etc. He started his career in 1989 as postgraduate student in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care from GMC, Patiala. He joined Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana in 1994 after having training in Cardiac Anaesthesia and Intensive Care from AIIMS, New Delhi and PGIMER, Chandīgarh. He had additional top up trainings and experiences in the feild from various premier institutes of the world including Uppsala University, Sweden; MAYO Clinic , Rochester, US; and Western University of Ontario, Canada where he did one year clinical fellowship in Liver transplant  Anaesthesia. He played a pivtol role in starting liver trasnplant programme in this zone. He established the Department of Critical Care Medicine and is one of the pioneer in starting DM programme in Critical Care Medicine in Northern Region of countary.  He has more than 100 publications and two books (Beyond Clinical Skills, 2017 and Crisis Resource Management and Safety, 2025) to his credit. He is an active member of critical care fraternity at the national level.
