About Doctor
Dr Suman Puri is a popular name in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, advanced laparoscopy and In Vitro fertilisation (IVF) with a teaching experience of more than 25 years and more than 31years of clinical practice. She is Professor and In charge of Gynae Unit 2 in the Department of Obst. & Gynaecology in DMC&H. She did her MBBS with HONOURS in 1990 and MD in Obst. & Gynaecology in 1994. In her clinical experience of 31 years she served as Senior Consultant at GTB hospital till 2003 before joining DMC&H.
She has done Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology (IUI &IVF) and Advanced Laparoscopic & Hysteroscopic surgery from Mount Elizabeth Hospital Singapore. She has 25 publications in National Journals and has presented various papers in National and International conferences and conducted workshops. She has participated as faculty and chaired session in national conferences. She has special interest in Advance Endoscopic surgery, IVF and High risk pregnancy. She introduced PGS and PGD (preimplantation genetic diagnosis and screening) in IVF programme in DMC for recurrent implantation failures and failed IVF cases and DMC is the first one to start PGS &PGD in Punjab. She has delivered First Case following PGS &PGD done in DMCH for recurrent implantation failure.
As part of her various achievements she was awarded the Academic Fellowship by the Indian College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in 2010. She is working as Scientist for the Indo-Danish project on Gestational Diabetes. She is doing all infertility procedures including IVF and advanced Laparoscopic surgeries with experience of more than 25 years.
She is a vice chairperson of ISAR (Indian Society for Assisted Reproduction) and IAGE (Indian Association of Gynaecological Endoscopists).
She is dealing with all high risk and complicated cases referred from all over India and Abroad.
She is in-charge of the Fogsi recognized Basic and Advance Laparoscopic courses for gynae, endoscopic training.
