About Doctor

Dr. Vikas Kumar is presently appointed as Assistant professor urology and Incharge of renal transplant. He joined this institution in November 2023. He did his MBBS degree from Darbhanga Medical college, Darbhanga in 1997 and MS (General surgery) from Govt. Medical College, Amritsar in 2002. After doing Senior Residency in DMC, Ludhiana and SGPGI, Lucknow he completed  his MCh degree from Department of Urology and Renal Transplantation from prestigious Sanjay Gandhi postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences ( SGPGI) Lucknow in 2010. After a term in Fortis hospital Mohali, he joined SPS Apollo Hospital in 2011 and worked as Senior Consultant Urologist and Renal transplant surgeon till 2023. He started renal transplant at SPS hospital and successfully did more than 160 cases of renal transplantation. After joining DMC as Incharge of renal transplantation, he has done more than 20 cases of renal transplantation along with starting Deceased Donor Renal Transplantation. He has keen interest in laparoscopic and open urology along with Retrograde intrarenal surgery ( RIRS).

Renal transplantation – Started Renal Transplantation program in 2012 at SPS Apollo Hospital, Ludhiana as Renal Transplant Surgeon. Successfully done 166 cases of Renal Transplant till October 2023.
