About Doctor

Dr Sandhya Sood is one of the best Radiation Oncologists in Ludhiana associated with Cancer Care Centre as a Radiation Oncologist.

Dr Sood earned her MBBS degree from the prestigious Government Medical College, Patiala in 1991 and MD in Radiation Oncology from Christian Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana in the year 2000. Also, she has been awarded with Dr Frank Neal / Dr CD Joseph Fellowship in 2003 and AORI Fellowship Award at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre, New York, USA.

With experience that spans Post PG over 26 years, Dr Sood has worked as a Senior Resident in the Department of Radiotherapy, at MD Oswal Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Ludhiana (March 2001 to December 2003) where she taught Radiotherapy to DNB students. Soon after she completed her Senior Residency, Dr Sood started working as a Radiation Oncologist, Incharge Unit – II at Radiotherapy Department of MD Oswal Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Ludhiana (2007 to 2012).

Prior to that, Dr Sood worked as a Resident, followed by a Senior Resident at Christian Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana. Her interest in academics reinforced her to become a Demonstrator in the Department of Anatomy at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana to MBBS students.

Recognized as the top cancer doctor in Ludhiana, Dr Sood’s areas of expertise lies in recent advances in Radiation Oncology – Intensity Modulated Radio Therapy (IMRT), Image Guided Radio Therapy (IGRT), External Beam Radiation for Prostate Cancer, Stereotactic Body Radio Therapy (SBRT) and Brachytherapy (Internal Radiation Therapy), etc.

Dr Sood has various publications and research papers for her credit. She is a member of Association of Radiation Oncologists of India (AROI), Indian Society for Study of Lung Cancer (ISSLC) and Association of Gynecologic Oncologists of India (AGOI).
