About Doctor

Dr. Vikas Makkar is a renowed name in field of nephrology and is serving as Professor & Head of Department of Nephrology for last sever years. With around 25 years of experience in nephrology in DMCH and other institutes of the country, he is an expert in treating all types of kidney diseases, acute and chronic renal failure, diabetic kidney disease, hypertension related kidney disease, kidney stone diseases, prostate problems and all the therapies like hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and kidney transplant. He has been teaching and training students for last 15 years and many of his students are now serving in Punjab and other parts of country. He treats his patients with utmost dedication, honesty, empathy and is an excellent blend of experience, recent knowledge, compassion and human touch. He has been part of various research projects, authored various papers, book chapters and successfully guided various Post Graduate and Post doctoral thesis.
